After nearly eight-years of podcasting you might be thinking the dozens of us who took part in the Wrestling 20 Years Ago podcast would be content to mostly put our feet up and, in true 2001 onwards WWE fashion, phone things in from here on in. And for some of the group, that may be right, but four brave members of the podcast rotation spotted an opportunity in the void and thus the "Indies 20 Years Ago Podcast" is born.
Join Billy Johnson, Adam Joyce, Peter Kimber and Daniel D'wit as they present a brand new podcast on the Wrestling 20 Years Ago Network looking at the fall-out of professional wrestling following the death of WCW and ECW in 2001. They will plot the paths of the stars who didn't get picked up by the WWE that year along with looking at the births of the next generation of wrestling stars like Bryan Danielson, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, CM Punk and many, many more.
Unlike the "main" show on the network, the show will no adopt "time-machine" mode, but we hope will otherwise follow the same investigate rigour as the main show looking at a selection of the very-best and very-worst that independent pro-wrestling has to offer. Each show they will discuss the news and big stories across wrestling promotions in the United States, United Kingdom and maybe even beyond, before reviewing a selection of their favourite and noteworthy matches for the month.
You won't need to subscribe to another podcast, just subscribe to the main Wrestling 20 Years Ago podcast feed and this will drop into your podcast players once a month. There's even a dedicated Twitter account which you can follow at @IndyWres20Yrs.
